An investigation into the determination of corticosteroids in urine. I. The determination of corticosterone-like substances.

چکیده
In the present investigation it has been found that the ability of deoxycorticosterone and corticosterone to produce the theoretical amount of formaldehyde when treated with periodic acid is unimpaired by previous treatment with hot dilute mineral acids. The ability of cortisone to react with periodic acid to produce formaldehyde is reduced to negligible proportions by such treatment. As a result a method is described

A Sensitive Electrochemical Sensor for Determination of Imipramine in Urine Sample Using Carbon Ionic Liquid Electrode Modified With Montomorillonite Nanoclay
We used an effective electrochemical sensor for the determination of imipramine at pH 7.2 using a carbon nanocomposite electrode. The electrode has been designed by incorporation of montmorillonite nanoclay into the carbon ionic liquid electrode. The high sensitivity of 1.714 μA (μM)-1, two linear calibration ranges of 0.1–2 μM and 2-40 μM, and detection limit of 19 nM were achieved. The relati...
متن کاملUrinary Steroids of Cats
Adrenal steroid secretion by cats has been studied by Bush (1951, 1953) and reviewed by Dorfman (1959). The cat adrenal secretes both cortisol and corticosterone. Arteta & Borrell (1958) and Borrell (1958) have reported studies of urinary excretion of 17-hydroxy corticosteroids (PorterSilber chromogens). Cats appear to excrete in urine very low concentrations of 17-hydroxy corticosteroids, all ...
متن کاملSelective Spectrophotometric Determination of Metformin Hydrochloride in Pharmaceuticals and Urine Using Two Nitrophenols as Chromogenic Agents
Metformin hydrochloride (MFH) is an oral anti-diabetic drug of biguanide class. Two selective spectrophotometric methods were presented for the determination of MFH in pharmaceuticals. The methods were based on the measurement of yellow-coloured charge-transfer complexes formed between MFH and two poly-nitrophenols, namely, 2,4-dinitrophenol (DNP method, at 405 nm) and picric acid (PA met...
متن کاملDevelopment of a Simple and Efficient Method for Preconcentration and Determination of Trace Levels of Fexofenadine in Plasma and Urine Samples
A simple, inexpensive and sensitive three-phase hollow fiber liquid-phase microextraction (HFLPME) coupled with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with UV detection was successfully developed for determination of trace level of an anti-Histamine drug, fexofenadine, in human plasma and urine. The analyte was extracted into n-octanol that was immobilized in the wall of a porous hollow ...
متن کاملExtraction and Determination of Cyproheptadine in Human Urine by DLLME-HPLC Method
Novel dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME), coupled with high performance liquid chromatography with photodiode array detection (HPLC-DAD) has been applied for the extraction and determination of cyproheptadine (CPH), an antihistamine, in human urine samples. In this method, 0.6 mL of acetonitrile (disperser solvent) containing 30 µL of carbon tetrachloride (extraction solvent) was ...
